Bahrain calls for peaceful solutions to regional crises

September 28, 2025 (PEN) - Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani stressed the importance of peaceful solutions to the crises in Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia, in a way that preserves the sovereignty of states, the unity and integrity of their territories, and protects the rights of their peoples to stability and sustainable development.

In his speech before the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the minister explained that this approach is based on the principles of good neighborliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and rejection of the use or threat of force.

Al-Zayani also stressed the need for joint action to free the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction and avoid the risks of an arms race and military escalation. He called for the resumption of US-Iranian negotiations to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue in a way that enhances global peace and security.
