A service outage is affecting online platforms and websites, including "X".

November 18, 2025 (pen) A Cloudflare outage on Tuesday caused problems for a number of websites and platforms for many users around the world.

Among the platforms affected by the outage was the "X" platform, where users reported being unable to use it in several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, according to the website outage tracking site "Down Detector".

Hundreds of thousands of companies around the world use Cloudflare software, which acts as a kind of barrier between their websites and end users, protecting their sites from attacks that could overburden them with excessive data traffic.

During Tuesday’s outage, services including Medium, Discord, Shopify, SoundCloud, Coinbase, and Dropbox were affected, according to a Bloomberg report seen by Al Arabiya Business.

Several popular AI services were also affected by the Cloudflare outage, including the chatbots ChatGBT and Gemini, and the Perplexity service.

Because of the outage in this service, when opening the affected sites, a message appears stating "Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to continue".

Cloudflare said via its status page that it is aware of and investigating an issue that may affect several customers, adding, "Additional details will be provided as soon as more information is available."

According to the official Cloudflare status website, there is currently scheduled maintenance at some data centers (such as Frankfurt) which may cause delays or temporary problems for some users.
