Ghana forced a goalless draw against England in the match that ended early Wednesday morning, as part of the second round of Group Twelve in the 2026 World Cup.

Both teams now have 4 points, with England leading the group on goal difference after their 4-2 thrashing of Croatia in the first round, while Ghana narrowly defeated Panama 1-0.

The English controlled the course of the game for most of the match and launched a series of attacks, all of which were broken by the solid Ghanaian defense and behind it the brilliant goalkeeper Lawrence Asare, who saved more than one dangerous ball.

In contrast, the "Black Stars" relied on counter-attacks, but a lack of precision in the final touch cost them scoring opportunities.

Midfielder Thomas Partey played for Ghana after missing the previous match against Panama, as Canadian authorities had prevented him from entering the country due to several charges against him.

The final standings of the group will be determined in the decisive third round, with Panama facing Croatia, while England will play Panama and Ghana will meet Croatia to decide the two qualifying spots.
