The Sudanese Congress holds the Rapid Support Forces responsible for the safety of civilians in El Fasher.

October 28, 2025 (PEN) The Sudanese Congress Party expressed deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in El Fasher, North Darfur, amid ongoing fighting and escalating violations against defenceless civilians.

Noureddine Babiker, the party's official spokesman, said in a statement that the city is experiencing "tragic conditions due to the siege and escalating clashes," causing significant difficulties for civilian movement, disrupting communications, and restricting access to humanitarian aid.

The party held the Rapid Support Forces and its allied forces fully responsible for the safety of civilians in the areas under their control, calling for strict adherence to international humanitarian law and refraining from obstructing civilian movement or preventing them from reaching safe areas.

The statement called on the United Nations, the African Union, and international humanitarian organizations to intensify their urgent efforts to pressure all parties to the conflict to open safe humanitarian corridors, secure the exit of civilians, and ensure the delivery of aid to those affected inside the city and surrounding areas.

The party stressed that the continuation of the war only serves the project of destruction and division, reiterating its call for an immediate ceasefire and engagement in a comprehensive political process that restores security and unity to Sudan and ends the suffering of the people.
