Tom Perriello calls for 2025 to mark end of conflicts in Sudan

January 1, 2025 (PEN) U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan Tom Perriello expressed his hope that 2025 will be the year in which the Sudanese people’s aspirations for a peaceful, prosperous, and democratic future are realized.

“Let 2025 be the year the Sudanese people realize their aspirations for a peaceful, prosperous and democratic future,” Perriello said.

Perriello stressed the importance of the international community's commitment to helping Sudan not only reach a ceasefire and end the ongoing conflict, but also to ensure that this war is the last one Sudan has to endure.
