Russia confirms its support for a peaceful solution to the conflict in Sudan

November 9, 2024 (PEN) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi, where the meeting focused on discussing the current situation in Sudan and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The two sides discussed the ongoing Sudanese crisis, with Russia reiterating its principled position in support of a peaceful solution to the internal conflict, while stressing the importance of preserving Sudan's unity and sovereignty.

The two sides also reviewed ways to develop Russian-Sudanese relations, enhance political dialogue, and expand areas of economic, trade and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
