Qatar condemns attacks on civilians in Al-Jazeera State, calls for comprehensive political solution

November 2, 2024 (PEN) The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's strong condemnation of the brutal attacks targeting civilians in Al-Jazeera State, including children, women and the elderly, and considered them a flagrant violation of international laws and humanitarian norms.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to launch a comprehensive dialogue between all Sudanese parties in order to permanently end the armed conflict, in preparation for the start of broad negotiations leading to a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stressed the importance of the Sudanese crisis receiving the attention of the international community and working to address its root causes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reiterated Qatar's firm position in supporting Sudan's unity, independence and territorial integrity, and rejecting any foreign interference in its internal affairs, while stressing respect for the choices of the Sudanese people in achieving freedom, peace, justice and prosperity.
