Trump advisor: Sudan conference coming soon in Washington

July 2, 2025 (PEN) - Masoud Boulos, senior advisor to US President Donald Trump for African, Arab, and Middle Eastern affairs, confirmed in statements to Al-Sharq News Channel that Washington will soon host a conference on Sudan, confirming the attendance of the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the UAE.

"There is no military solution to the conflict in Sudan," Paulos said, stressing that the US administration is interested in stopping the war and that they are in direct or indirect contact with both sides.

Pauls also denied that the conflict in Sudan was a "proxy war," stressing that his country did not view it from that perspective.
