Egypt condemns the targeting of vital facilities in Sudan and calls for a ceasefire.

May 4, 2025 (PEN) The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the targeting of infrastructure and vital facilities in the cities of Port Sudan and Kassala, affirming its categorical rejection of any actions that would harm the capabilities of the Sudanese people.

Egypt stressed the need not to target civilian infrastructure and facilities, noting that such actions hinder efforts to restore stability and impede the delivery of humanitarian aid to Sudanese citizens.

The statement affirmed Egypt's commitment to Sudan's unity and stability, calling for an immediate ceasefire to preserve civilian lives and the country's resources.
