Egypt, EU discuss political settlement efforts in Sudan

November 16, 2024 (PEN) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati met on Saturday, November 16, with the European Union's Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Annette Weber, to discuss developments in Sudan.

During the meeting, Abdel-Ati stressed the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire in order to pave the way for a comprehensive political solution that guarantees stability in Sudan. He also stressed the need to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those affected by the crisis.

Abdel-Ati pointed out Egypt's keenness to support international and regional efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan, and to push forward the political settlement process urgently.
