Washington and Cairo discuss developments in Sudan

July 31, 2025 (PEN) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty discussed developments in Sudan during his meeting with his US counterpart Marco Rubio in Washington, stressing the importance of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire and ensuring humanitarian aid reaches those affected, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to a ministry statement, Minister Abdel-Ati stressed Cairo's support for Sudanese state institutions, calling for respect for Sudan's sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its territory.
