Egyptian-Saudi-Emirati consultations regarding Sudan

June 10, 2026 (PEN) The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdel-Aty, held two separate telephone conversations on Tuesday, June 9, with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the UAE Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, as part of ongoing consultations on regional developments of common interest.

The calls addressed bilateral relations between Egypt, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, in addition to discussing the Iranian crisis and ways to reduce escalation, the latest developments in Gaza and Lebanon, and the ongoing efforts to implement President Trump’s peace plan.

Minister Abdel-Aati, along with his Saudi and Emirati counterparts, stressed the importance of preserving Sudan’s security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity, and rejected any attempts to create parallel entities or undermine Sudanese state institutions.

The Egyptian side stressed the importance of reaching a sustainable ceasefire, supporting the Sudanese-Sudanese political track to resolve the crisis, and supporting the Quartet's efforts aimed at achieving stability and enhancing the chances of a political settlement, according to the official page of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the conclusion of the two calls, the ministers agreed to continue close consultation and coordination between Cairo, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi regarding Sudan and other regional issues, in order to support security and stability in the region and achieve common interests.
