The new Saudi ambassador arrives in Port Sudan to assume his duties

July 5, 2026 (PEN) The newly appointed Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Zaid bin Mukhlid Al-Harbi, arrived in Port Sudan to assume his duties, succeeding Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar.

He was received at Port Sudan International Airport by the representative of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Onur Ahmed Anwar, and a number of Arab ambassadors, including the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador of Morocco, Mohamed Maa El Ain, the Ambassador of Kuwait, Fahd Al-Dhafeeri, and the Ambassador of Qatar, Mohammed bin Ibrahim, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Red Sea State Government, Fathallah Al-Hajj.

The arrival of the military ambassador comes at an important stage in the course of relations between the Kingdom and Sudan, as he is expected to contribute to advancing prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, in a way that serves common interests and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood between them, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
