April 12, 2026 (PEN) The Saudi Ministry of Energy announced its success in restoring full pumping capacity through the East-West pipeline, after some of the Kingdom's energy system facilities were affected by recent attacks, according to a supplementary statement issued to complement its statement dated April 9, 2026.

The ministry explained that operational and technical efforts resulted in restoring the pipeline's full capacity of approximately 7 million barrels per day, after the Kingdom had lost nearly 700,000 barrels per day of pumping capacity. The affected production from the Manifa field, estimated at around 300,000 barrels per day, was also restored within a short period.

Regarding the Khurais field, the ministry indicated that work is still underway to restore its full production capacity, stressing that this will be announced as soon as the repair operations are completed.

The ministry affirmed that this rapid recovery reflects the high operational flexibility and crisis management efficiency of Saudi Aramco and the Kingdom’s energy system, ensuring the reliability of supplies and their continued flow to local and global markets, and contributing to supporting the stability of the global economy.

These developments come in the context of the repercussions of the war between Iran, Israel and the United States, which broke out on February 29, 2016, and resulted in serious material damage to the energy infrastructure in a number of Gulf countries.
