Riyadh and Cairo stress the importance of resolving the conflict in Sudan.

April 23, 2025 (PEN) The Egyptian-Saudi Political Follow-up and Consultation Committee held a meeting in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel Aty.

The two sides discussed a number of regional and international political issues, including developments in Sudan, Palestine, Libya, Yemen, and Syria.

In a joint statement issued following the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of ending the conflict in Sudan and affirmed their commitment to supporting Sudanese state institutions.

The two sides also affirmed their support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability, most notably the Jeddah talks.
