11 July 2026 (PEN) Saudi Arabia and Canada renewed their support for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to end the current crisis and ensure the right of the Sudanese people to live in security, dignity and justice.

This came in a joint statement issued at the conclusion of the official visit of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to the Kingdom, at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during the period from July 8 to 10, 2026.

During the visit, the two sides discussed a number of common issues, including regional security, and the Palestinian and Yemeni issues, within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The statement warned against any practices that could fuel the conflict or undermine the stability of Sudan, stressing the need to preserve its national institutions.
