The Gulf Cooperation Council offers condolences to the victims of the Herat earthquake, Afghanistan

October 9, 2023 (pen) The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed great sorrow and pain over the earthquake incident that occurred in western Afghanistan.

The Secretary-General offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of Afghanistan and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The death toll from the strong earthquake that struck Herat is close to 3,000 dead and 10,000 injured, according to what the Minister of Information and Culture in the Afghan province of Herat said.
