The Kassala Teachers Committee suspends the strike for a week to allow for the implementation of the agreement and the disbursement of the 2025 entitlements.

The Kassala Teachers Committee rejected the decision to open schools on Sunday, considering it a circumvention of their demands, and stressed their commitment not to resume work before the teachers’ rights are fully restored.

The strike by teachers in Al Jazeera has entered its fifth week, with the adoption of the tactic of attending schools but refraining from teaching, in adherence to demands for improved wages and payment of dues.

The Kassala Teachers Committee decided to extend the strike until July 16, stressing that the return to schools is contingent upon the implementation of demands, payment of arrears, and adjustment of salaries.

The teachers' committee renewed its call for a response to the teachers' demands, as the strike continues in 4 states at high rates, despite what it described as arbitrary measures against a number of teachers.
